Additional Minnesota Viking Commentary

Blurred
It's been some time now but the comparison is starting to emerge.  Dalvin Cook is no Barry Sanders, nor is he a Walter Peyton however his recent body of work is leaning its way toward another Hall of Fame running back.  Way back in 99 Marshal Faulk led the greatest show on turf where today it's very hard not to notice allot of similarities to that infamous crew, however, it is clear that what we are seeing today is unique.  There will only be one Marshal Faulk ... and there will only be one Dalvin Cook.

There is no question that Mike Martz completely capitalized on Marshal Faulk's abilities to both carry the ball & then torch the defense, out of the backfield, as that teams unquestioned #1 weapon within a group of lethal weapons.  Today we are seeing something completely different from the mind of coach Kevin Stefanski within the abilities & actions of Dalvin Cook.  My only question ... is really ... are all those long enduring battered Viking fans ... are they truly understanding what they are witnessing as it's well past time to savor every moment.  Each sacrifice ... each commitment to unquestioned absolute focus ... each moment given to absorb the resilience necessary to accept the foibles & failures of all those broken links ,,, these are the things that are marching us all toward an unknown destination.   In both success or failure ... it is the steps toward the goal that mark these, soon to be "ingrained-days", into our lives.

At this juncture, what is quite comical to watch, is the blurred LEGEND that has unfolded before our eyes.  It's as if the entire world has confused & denied what they are actually seeing like a game played by identical twins to confuse & confound us.  Without realizing their mistake, in their minds, that have combined two distinctly different people into one person.  They rave & gush over Dalvin Cook ... rightfully so ... not understanding that there is another.  The comical thought is that it mirrors "Star Wars".  If they destroyed (stopped) Luke Skywalker, that the Jedi's would be gone for all eternity .... but there was another ... and somehow it appears that he too ... cannot be stopped.

It is an absolute mistake to consider, what should be the 2019 Rookie of the Year Alexander Mattison, as anything close to Dalvin Cooks identical twin, as they function as absolute destructive compliments.  Many are now starting to come to that exact conclusion.  Today, we see the names of Kyler Murray, Daniel Jones, Darius Slayton, Clelin Ferrel & Josh Jacobs, and with all due respect to these guys, not one of them will have the impact of this 2019 Minnesota Vikings rookie class in what they have done and in what they will do collectively.  The blurred nature of the worlds accounting, based upon fantasy football & other meaningless stats, leaves us with a dubious aroma.  The genius of Zimmer, Stefanski & Kubiak now ponder how they have failed ... to raise it to the next level ... as just being good is never enough.  They are searching for that next set of clues for that next chain of events.

Now ask yourself a question.  Do you for one moment think that it's just a coincidence that your best offensive weapon has been removed from the board ... for some time now?  How about the removal of your strongest & most menacing defensive centerpiece, not to mention one of your best cover corners?  Do think that our coaching staff is being tested by the gods, once again, to be forced into a very new realm of thought ... and do they see it ... as it has become a weekly playoff format?  Is this franchise being forced to maneuver into different game plans & mind sets each & every week?  Do you think they are being taken out of their comfort zone to be forced into learning more & more about who they are?  Have you ever considered that the results of the "Fudgies-Weekly-Play" is actually making this squad even more menacing ... week by week?  This franchise's recent tallies indicate some large & sweeping anomalies demonstrating a different set of overachievers on a weekly basis.  Has anyone picked up on that fact and how is any opposing team supposed to deal with these anomalies.

What is becoming crystal clear is that there will be no rest for the weary within any part of this organization, which is good, because everyone will get plenty of that 6' under.   On the other hand, to be sharp, you will need that rest.  Put your stock into the insight of proper preparation & a clear "all-cylinders-firing" head.

It wasn't all that long ago that the Steelers came to visit Minnesota.  With one additional loss that year, the Steelers would be eliminated from playoff contention, but instead they had a string of successive victories to end the year, to secure that #6 seed, which was followed with another Lombardi.  How might that history be relevant today?  What is clear is that just about anything is possible.

A. A. Ron now finds a false solace under the cover of new winters snow ... and within it ... the relief to invite everyone to attend the frozen tundra  ... to which I say ... Not So Fast ... for a whole host of reasons.  The least of which is if some squad somehow stops his running game making A. A. Ron one dimensional again.  His receivers can only do so much without someone gashing the lanes toting that rock to aleviate the pressure ... especially in poor weather conditions.  There is true peril afoot for the over rated, as there are only so many hankies available before the entire league catches on.  "Not to worry though ... as it is only I that is breathing down your neck".

It is said, that to travel well in the playoffs, there is one thing that you must do well.  It's a very good thing that this franchise hasn't a clue what that might be.  On the other hand ... "THEY WANT NO PART OF YOU".  Where maybe one day, when Alexander Mattison walks onto the field he'll hear the chant ... "N ... P ... O ... Y" ... being the exact quote of Mr. Dalvin Cook.  Mr. Mattison, keep in mind that no one ever gets to pick their own nick name, nor their moniker.  You'll just have to live with it.

Is it just me, or are we hearing the "Skol Chant" in stadium after stadium ... throughout the lands?  The first time that I witnessed the chant was in person in Washington, on Teddy's first game back.  Kirk Cousins faced off against a both brilliant & sloppy Case Keenum on that day.  When hearing the chant ... on foreign grounds ... for the first time, I couldn't believe my ears.  The fans in Washington clearly didn't understand it however that chant may have made an impression upon Kirk Cousins ... like a song to which someone is called.  I guess the days of the annoying "cheese-ers" is now past and is now over in favor of this new "World-Wide-Icelandic-Bond".  Yes ... the Vikings belong to much much more than just the modest region in the upper mid west.  The Vikings belong to the faithful that have been splattered about throughout the world.

One has to wonder, will there be enough time ... will there be enough room ... will there be enough food ... will there be enough warmth to shelter ... as what could be ... the unattainable ... will be no simple matter.

Well, my vision is not blurred, and apparently, if your reading this ... neither is yours.  Alexander Mattison is an absolute Beserker.  To date, much of his progressing efforts have been obscured by a good deal of field laundry.  Who could blame THE ZEBS, as for this team to be able to perform at this level ... it must rise to "The Level ... The occasion" of FIELD LAUNDRY.  No, it couldn't be entertainment, nor does it follow the leagues proposed Tom-Brady-Like sketch.  Mr. Alexander finishes with his pads down, taking his role to a new level ...  delivering the blows ... in the field of play.  He runs not with anger but with absolute purpose.  Acceleration ... De-acceleration ... Masterful Calculated Footwork ... Leverage ... Shifting ... Driving Power Strokes ... with a brutal finish ... all the time following the words of the Great Vince Lombardi ... "TO RUN IT IN THE ALLEY".  His form is at a championship level, even as a man child, in that his instinct is to run into "The Angles" rather than to shy away from the Leverage.  Out of bounds manages their time ... not my TIME ... where the escapement of time ... stoping its release ... becomes my my torment.  Let Dalvin dazzle ... Let me grind.

In regard to Dalvin Cook, his body of work is simply on another plane.  There are no words that can be used to give what we are witnessing credence.  Any utterance of any description of it, could be construed as being insulting to the gods.  No one understands Dalvin's overall purpose except to know that he's Alexander's mentor that generates his output as his compliment.  This is a dynamic that even his coaches find hard to truly understand however there appears to be some similarities between Diggs & Theilen.  Dalvin is doing things that mere mortals can only dream.  Much of it cannot be explained ...  nor should it be.  It should only be devourer.  Then, it only leaves us angry, shaking our "rookers" to the heavens, as to what might have been ... in his first two years.

Many have no idea what to say in regard to Kirk Cousins.  Do they believe?  What is so different that we can even allow ourselves the opportunity to open ourselves up to the eventuality of Kirk Cousins being able to realize his full potential.  Although he's in his eighth year, there is one monumental thing that is different.  He has never had a consistant rusher in his prior 7 year history, to compliment the game that he was born to lead, that is except for this year.  This statistic that is never referenced or alluded to, which is very odd, is Kirk's rushing leaders total output  in each of his prior seven years.  It is clear that Kirk Cousins is capable of winging it all over the yard however what is becoming clear is that he just might be the best pure play action passer in the entire league ... maybe ever.  Sure, he's had passing statistics in the past, that have seldom turned into strategic team wins, but you can't hold onto that thought process forever.  Why?  Because , IT LOOMS.
